I love this quote, there is so much that can be said about it.
To those who struggle with self acceptance and self love I would say, ‘You have value, you are loved.’ There is only one of you and the world needs your unique talents and gifts.
To those who constantly compare themselves to others I would say, ‘You are whole, you are complete. Celebrate who you are because there are those who compare themselves to you!’
And here is something to think about…..we are all different, as Dr. Seuss so brilliantly said, “There is no one alive who is you-er than you.” And yet, we are all created in the image and likeness of our God. That means that each one of us, different as we are, are God’s image and likeness.
God is beyond anything that we could ever fully predict or comprehend.
And yet, we can love God.
A humbling thought……

Because we are created in the image and likeness of God, we might say that we begin with “original blessing” rather than original sin. Each person is created with divine DNA, as Richard Rohr would say, so each person has the divine within – the image and likeness of God. It is an overwhelming thought!
So true, Lynda. How we would look at ourselves and others if we keep that in the forefront of our minds, don’t you think?
