Oh please don’t rush lent this year, I’m just not ready!
Lent takes work, lent takes discipline, lent takes sacrifice, lent takes energy.
Everywhere I look I see lent – lenten flyers, lenten blogs, and lenten booklets.
Not quite yet – please!
I need a bit more time….
to think of only myself
to be too weary to pray
to play on the computer instead of read my spiritual books
to say whatever I want without watching my words
TO EAT CHOCOLATE
I’m not ready lent – don’t come too quickly – I don’t want to change
I’m comfortable just as I am
how I need lent this year!
It is so hard to believe that Ash Wednesday is in two weeks. I need time to prepare myself for this most holy season of the year and yet, am I ever really ready? Am I ever really ready to confront my shallow self in the face of Jesus the Christ who is always ready to welcome me?
Andie, thank you for reminding me of the imminence of Lent and the need to prepare my journey.
It just seems to be coming a little quickly this year Lynda – let’s remember each other in prayer.
Ha ha – I guess we need what we want least.
You are so right – words of wisdom!
I have only two weeks to eat all the chocolates left over from Christmas????
Wow … Easter is early this year. Must be something to do with the moon I think!
A bit like Christmas. Have you noticed that easter is always on a Sunday but not Chritmas? I think my brain is really on form today … must be all that chocolate.
Oh I know Victor….this is going to be a tough lent!
I know you don’t want to rush Lent, but I wonder if you have anything special planned on your blog for the season?
Denise, you’ve got me thinking….what a great idea, to have a lenten theme. I’m working on it – more tomorrow, have to sleep on this one!
I am right there with you! What an honest, real post! Thank you for reminding me of my need to sacrifice all of my “I want’s” even if for just a small period of time.
