When we think about the word, love, we think of it as a verb. We tend to believe that there has to be something or someone that this love is directed towards. I love flowers, I love ice cream, I love my children, I love my God.
But, when you really think about God, what image comes to mind? What God have you created?
God can never be fully understood by us…God is bigger than our conceptions of him, God is beyond what we think that he is. So the question begs….can we really love something that we cannot fully understand or know?
Perhaps we need to re-think the word, love. John’s Gospel tells us that God is Love. Love becomes a noun….
This is thought provoking…God is Love…. we do use the word casually
Both I suppose – to do it properly you have to be it?
