When was the last time?

  1. Our lives are so busy that being present in the moment is an excellent way to celebrate Advent by allowing the coming of our Saviour to give meaning to the everyday things that we take for granted.

    1. Absolutely Lynda….he’s in the little things, the ordinary, the everyday and when we are able to be present in the moment, we can see him and love him there.

  2. I love your list, and try to do much of them often in my life. It all seems a way to be very in-tune with our surroundings, with those around us, and ourselves too.

  3. Hope your blogging break was relaxing!

Great list. I need to work on affirming myself and reading a fairy tale (that one is great!).

I read loads of books with my kids, but fairy tales? Nope, and it’s sad becasue some kids aren’t familiar with fairy tales unless they are made into a Disney movie, of course!

    1. I agree Amy, sometimes the best messages are in the fairy tales, fables and other children’s books! The blogging breaking was restorative! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I can thankfully say Yes to nearly all of these, Andie, except for reading a fairy tale and watching a sunrise. This time of year is not a great one for me to even contemplate getting out of bed to watch a sunrise. All I want to do is sleep. :-))
The way the weather is at the moment I think the sun has drifted off to some far corner of the cosmos and I’ll be lucky to see it until Summer 2012.
That’s why I love the warm glow from the colours of your blog background – gorgeous. They wake me up.
Can you recommend a fairy tale for Advent for me pleez ?
    Blessings

  5. Does watching “Once Upon a Time” count as reading a fairy tale for this list? Either way, it’s a great list. The holiday weekend afforded a few opportunities for belly laughs and a few other things.

It’s good to see you back from your blogging break, Andie!

    1. Thanks Denise, it’s good to be back and to once again delight in your beautiful photos! I love that show as well.. maybe that was my inspiration for that suggestion!

  6. Advent has become very special to me since our church began using the Advent candles in our worship in recent years. We lit the Prophets candle, or the candle of hope, this past Sunday.

I love your list, and I can say I’ve done some of those this past week while my grandchildren were here. I do wish to “be still” at times during this sometimes-chaotic season and remember the reason for the season.

    Happy Advent to you!

  7. I had a very strong desire to read a fairytale a couple of days ago! Funny you would mention this. This is a great list, perfect for a tea break.

Please delete my previous comment! Thanks 🙂 🙂

  8. Hi again Andie,
Today is the anniversary of the birth of CS Lewis (1898) which immediately reconnected me to your post and the question of which fairy story could I read. Now I realise that The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe may be one good one.
I know CS Lewis loved Christmas – I too can feel a new post coming on- the grace of serendipity and community – it’s great isn’t it ? :-))
    Blessings
