Each time I hear this song from Frankie Valli I hear God’s voice. It first happened one night when I was driving home from a presentation that I didn’t feel went very well. I was discouraged, I was exhausted and I wondered and questioned….. I had worked so hard…. As I wallowed in self-pity I turned on the car radio in hopes of taking my mind off of the evening. This song began to play and my thoughts went to Jesus….
Who loves me? He does! The lyrics are repetitive but that’s ok – it will take a lifetime to really have it ‘sink in’.
Who loves you pretty baby,
Who’s gonna help you through the night?
Who
loves you pretty mama,
Who’s always there to make it right?
Who loves
you pretty baby,
Who’s gonna help you through the night?
Who loves you
pretty mama,
Who’s always there to make it right?
Who loves
you,
Who loves you pretty baby?
Who’s gonna love you mama?
Who
loves you,
Who loves you pretty baby?
When tears are in your
eyes,
And you can’t find the way.
It’s hard to make believe,
You’re
happy when you’re gray.
Baby when you’re feelin’ like,
You’ll never
see the mornin’ light.
Come to me,
Baby, you’ll see.
Who loves
you pretty baby,
Who’s gonna help you through the night?
Who loves you
pretty mama,
Who’s always there to make it?
Who loves you,
Who
loves you pretty baby?
Who’s gonna love you mama?
Who loves
you,
Who loves you pretty baby?
And when you think,
The whole wide world has passed you by.
You keep on tryin’,
But you really don’t know
why.
Baby when you need a smile,
To help the shadows drift
away.
Come to me,
Baby, you’ll see.
Who loves you pretty
baby,
Who’s gonna help you through the night?
Who loves you pretty
mama,
Who’s always there to make it?
Who loves you,
Who’s gonna
love you, love you?
Who’s gonna love you?
Who loves you,
Who’s
gonna love you, love you?
Who’s gonna love
you?
Baby,
Baby,
Doot-doo-doot.
Come to me,
Baby, you’ll
see.
Who loves you pretty baby,
Who’s gonna help you through the
night?
Who loves you pretty mama,
Who’s always there to make
it?
Who loves you,
Who’s gonna love you, love you?
Who’s gonna love
you?
Who loves you,
Who’s gonna love you, love you?
Who’s gonna
love you
Music is such a universal, far-reaching language. I love the power a song has to take us to so many places …
I went to youtube and am listening right now to Frank Valli as I read your post. Yes, this is a good message, a message from above. Neat! Thank you, Andie!
What an unusual and great spin on this song!
Music touches the soul, that is for sure.
