I must admit that I didn’t set out to watch the Royal Wedding this morning.  I’m happy for them, it seems like it’s the real deal, but I’m not one who was counting the hours and following all the news about the grand occasion.  I did, however, turn on the news this morning and the NEWS was this wedding.  It seemed to be on every channel and before long I was watching to see what the gown looked like, who the guests were, bridesmaids, etc.  One thing that I couldn’t help but notice were the hats….so many hats!

Now, I don’t know Royal etiquette,  but it seems to me that a hat, or some sort of headpiece was required.  There were large hats, small hats, bands,  flowers, feathers and bows.  Some looked quite nice, some looked a bit silly.  Some matched the dresses, some stood with a different color.  Hats that covered faces, hats that highlighted faces.  Hats in the center of heads and hats off to one side….hats…hats…and more hats.  The ‘hats’ would make a great Dr. Seuss book.

I think back to one week ago…to another headpiece.  This one was unique as well.  It fit well, was made for His head, and forced down into it.   It was circular, made of natural elements and even called a crown.

One week ago a man took a walk up a hill…..and on his head was a hat, of sorts, a crown of thorns.
