I’m putting together a little exercise for a large group of teens and their parents and I thought it might be fun to share with you:
Reflect on the landscape of your life, the mountains and valleys, the plateaus, the canyons and the summits. Here are some popular phrases from movies. Can you match some of them with the events of your life? Have fun:
“Love means never having to say you’re sorry” Love Story
“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming” Finding Nemo
“The stuff that dreams are made of” Maltese Falcon
“You talkin’ to me?” Taxi Driver
“Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night” All About Eve
“May the Force be with You” Star Wars
“Made it Ma, to the top of the world” White Heat
“I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore” Network
“Toto, I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore” The Wizard of Oz
“Go ahead, make my day” Sudden Impact
“Well, nobody’s perfect” Some Like it Hot
“Snap out of it” Moonstruck
“I have always depended on the kindness of strangers.”
A Streetcar Named Desire
and last but not least…
“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn” Gone with the Wind
What a great project…..events kept popping into my head as I read the lines. Great conversation starter too! Lori
Thanks Lori, I hope the teens feel the same way.
Great association, Andie, for your teens and their parents and ourselves as well 🙂 Good luck with your project!
Thanks…hoping it’s a fun way to dig a little deep
Obviously I am not a teen. I didn’t know of, or watch, most of those. Glad you are teaching teens, and not me 😉
To tell the truth I don’t watch a lot of movies either. Got these from googling famous movie quotes 🙂
Oh my yes, so many of these resonate with me. For right now it’s all about not being in Kansas anymore. So much meaning there and in such a good way.
I know….poor Kansas, nobody’s there anymore!
What a fun collection of sayings … many I didn’t recognize. My grandson probably would!
I’m with you….I thank Google for them. I’m sooooo out of the loop.
Good game to do. Makes you use your brain. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.
My pleasure…it’s always fun to do things like this, makes you stretch a bit (I hope)
